My daughter and I had been overseas for two years and for this reason she had missed year one and had been placed straight into year 2. Robbert has helped my daughter gain confidence and although she was behind she  managed to gain above average in her sats with the support Robert has given her.

She disliked writing the most but now is confident and enjoys creative writing due to Robert giving her the extra support and his way of finding topics she enjoys etc.

My daughter thoroughly enjoys going to the cabin, I don’t have to convince her to attend and does her homework on her own, she doesn’t feel overwhelmed with the work given.   The groups are small and my daughter is fond of her classmates. She often tells me that they work together well. Tthe cabin is also set in a natural environment and is a refreshing change to a classroom.

I receive regular feedback and a report which helps me understand her progress and I am also guided with what we need to focus on at home.   Robert is also easily approachable and if I have any concerns or queries this is never an issue.

I would like to thank you for your tutoring of my year 8 daughter. The introductory assessment was very useful to understand where she had gaps in her knowledge, which gave her areas of improvement. She enjoys working in a group, while the work set is bespoke to each student. Her grades in maths have improved significantly in two terms and she is more confident and happy about the subject.

Mr. Robert Briggs has been an outstanding tutor for my child (now in Year 6) in both mathematics and English. My child’s initial assessment was thorough, leading to a personalized learning plan and a detailed formal report. Both my children have been attending sessions with Robert for over a year now. The tailoring of the work to suit each child is fantastic and has meant that while one is able to consolidate what she is being taught at school, the other is being stretched. The regular written updates on progression are reassuring and helpful. The  group sessions bring a social element to classes, which my children really enjoy.

We have been extremely happy with my daughter’s progress while attending weekly sessions at the cabin and I would highly recommend. Her initial assessment was really helpful and half termly reports have given us a great insight into what would be worked on in that half term. The weekly homework has been really tailored for her and she really enjoys getting it done.

Robert tutored my son in English while he was in year 11. We noticed a huge difference in his attitude towards the subject during this time, as well as his understanding and knowledge of the relevant coursework. In Primary school my daughter was falling behind with her Maths and English and we really needed help! Thankfully we found Mr. Briggs and the rest is history. My daughter has been attending Mr. Briggs’s lessons since Primary School, and now she’s in Secondary School Yr 9. She’s improved immensely with her Maths and English! She thoroughly enjoys her lessons in their wonderful magical garden-like hub! It’s a brilliantly relaxed work environment with a few more students, helping her to relax and study.

She‘s become more confident, happier and positive. We are always updated with information on her progress which is always helpful. At the beginning of every term we are sent a formal written report. After every lesson, Mr. Briggs always makes an effort to discuss my daughters progress/ achievements, concerns and homework. My daughter has been attending Robert’s tuition classes since she was in Year 4. She expressed the desire to try the 11plus exam, so we wanted her to start some preparation for it, but we also did not want a form of tuition that was exclusively exam-oriented. We are very happy with Robert’s approach because he combines a focus on the 11plus requirements with a broader attention on educational development. 

Our daughter clearly enjoys the tuition and has made great progress since she started with Robert. She likes to be in a small group with other children, but she also receives plenty of individual attention. One hour and half is the perfect amount of time for the children to learn new things in-depth and Robert is careful to give homework that consolidates new knowledge and refreshes as well. We are very happy with the Cabin and have recommended it to friends and parents of children in our daughter’s school. 

My children enjoy coming to Robert’s Cabin. Robert is kind, consistent and has a good sense of humour. He takes a methodical approach to maths, gently testing knowledge and teaching missing gaps. Short homework tasks have provided opportunities to consolidate and embed new learning. I am very grateful for this ongoing support with my children’s education.

My daughter is in Year 8 and has been attending Mr Briggs’s weekly tutor group since she was in Year 6. She initially joined to help build her confidence, particularly in Maths after the various lockdowns as she had gaps in her knowledge and understanding and was quite anxious about the end of year SATS. I saw a positive change within a very short time and a noticeable difference in her confidence, enjoyment and maths ability.

She has continued attending each week because she thoroughly enjoys the lessons and I believe it plays a big part in supporting her learning and attainment at secondary school.

Mr Briggs has a positive approach and he has helped to reignite my daughter’s enjoyment of learning. The regular half-termly reports that we receive are very helpful to check in with her progress and he is always available for a catch-up if ever needed.

My daughter was in Year 7 when I discovered that she was really struggling with maths. Like all school pupils, she missed most of Years 5 and 6 due to COVID-19, which meant she had a considerable gap in her mathematical knowledge, which her secondary school didn’t pick up until the end of Year 7. It was a friend who recommended Robert to me, and I’m really pleased she did.

My daughter really enjoys learning in a small peer group, whilst also having one-to-one time with Robert when she needs something explaining in greater depth or additional help. The homework reinforces what they have learnt that week and is never too onerous or time-consuming. It really does seem to be cementing what she has learnt and highlights to Robert if she still needs additional time on a particular topic.

Robert is always available to have a chat about progress and to suggest anything additional we can do at home to support our daughter. We receive a progress report each half term which outlines what work has been covered, any difficulties my daughter may be having and her triumphs.

In addition to the weekly sessions, Robert was also available to do a few one-to-one sessions with my daughter over the summer to help her gain confidence going from Year 7 to Year 8. These sessions were invaluable to her starting back in Year 8 with a lot more mathematical confidence than I think she would have done with no additional help over the summer.

Robert’s style of teaching works for my daughter; whilst he is there to teach, they also have a lot of fun while learning. He encourages learning through one-to-one work, group work and independent learning.

I would definitely recommend Robert. He has been brilliant for our daughter.
